Community Visitors Scheme
You are about to begin a very special relationship as you enter the life of an older person who will benefit greatly from your gift of time, companionship and caring.
In this training package you will find information about the Community Visitors Scheme, what it means to be a volunteer, information and strategies to support you in your visiting relationship and a short quiz at the end of each section. There are also Frequently Asked Questions included to highlight common scenarios that occur within a visiting relationship. You will also have the opportunity to print off fact sheets as handy resources to keep.
The package, which comprises 5 sections will take approximately 1 – 1.5 hours to complete depending upon the pace at which you choose to work; however you can move back and forth through the screens, SAVE and LEAVE the site and come back at any time during the 2 week period stated in the email sent to you with your login details.
Before you commence working through the package, please read your CVS Volunteer Handbook as it is intended to be a continuing resource for you, along with support from your CVS Program Coordinator.
We hope that you enjoy working through the package and on completion, encourage you to discuss with the CVS Program Coordinator any areas where you would like more information.
